Start A DropShipping Business: Part 2

August 12th, 2009 Comments off

Begin your drop shipping business using our FREE shopping cart

If you’re new to e-commerce and considering drop shipping, then you probably have one important factor driving your decision… You don’t have a lot of money. The upfront cost of starting a business endeavor ultimately comes with the fear of failure. It comes with the fear of not succeeding and parting with a rather large sum of cash that you may never recoup. Fortunately, the internet offers a number of business models with relatively low risk, and Drop shipping is the perfect example.

If you are not really familiar with the term, it simply means you are setting up a store front to a sell a product that you actually never touch or see. You have no inventory, which means you have no need for costly storage or other charges associated with managing your product supply. It also means no inconvenient trips to the post office. Everything you sell is sitting in a warehouse somewhere that manages everything from handling your inventory to shipping it to your buyer.

So what do you do? In the most basic sense, really all you are doing is connecting the buyer with the drop shipping company you chose to do business with. You list the products in your online shopping cart, often times using the same images and descriptions of your parent company. When you receive an order your dropship supplier is automatically notified and the product is shipped from the wholesaler’s warehouse at a reduced cost. The difference is your profit.

So how do I go about setting up this shopping cart? There are a lot of free options out there but many of them don’t offer variation in distinguishing your store front from others. ezOSC.com is one of the few we know about that offers a wide variety of templates to make customizing your store into something great easy.

With the free version you will be able set up your store front with a complete functioning shopping cart. The interface is both friendly and powerful, allowing you the freedom to quickly build a well structured product display. All transactions are handled using SSL which will increase your customer’s confidence ultimately leading to higher sales.

ezOSC offers additional paid online store solutions that provide even greater customization and features for the “pro seller.” But, for now, go free, earn a few bucks, make a profit, and then make a business investment.
